Our Ministries
Board of Deacon's Ministry
The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture (Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:8-15) is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, of exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office.
Council of Ruling Elders
Ruling elders are called to ministry in partnership with teaching elders. Within this calling, ruling elders have responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church including exercise in leadership, governance, spiritual discernment, and discipline. This series seeks to lift up the specific responsibilities while also providing an opportunity to reflect upon how they are lived out.
A church needs to develop a sound philosophy for Christian education based on the Word of God. A sound philosophical statement is not enough, however, to experience the transformation of lives. What is on paper must be put into practice for it to make a difference. Too often an incongruence exists between what is on paper and the actual operative philosophy of the church's leadership.

Ministry
Corporate Affairs Ministry
It is the responsibility of the CA Ministry to shepherd critical projects in and for the church by maintaining, improving, and enhancing the church building and grounds, to provide an acceptable facility to minister to the congregation and surrounding community. In addition, this ministry is authorized to execute contracts on the church’s behalf and other legal and binding agreements.
Evangelism Ministry
We’re called as followers of Christ to share His message of hope and love, leading others to a life-changing personal relationship with Him. Christ calls us to share His promise of eternal love in and outside the church, so that others can do the same.
The Evangelism Ministry works hand-in-hand with the Mission Ministry to answer God’s call to reach and touch the lives of people who may not know that God loves them and that He has a plan for them. In love and with action, we’re building relationships with each other and with God.
Missions Ministry
Jesus calls his disciples not to talk about him in the safety of church walls but to proclaim the Good News to the world. “They will know we are Christians by our love” the hymn says, and the best way to show that love is to do something for another person, sacrificing for others just as Christ sacrificed for us. Surely, as people saved through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, we can sacrifice some of ourselves in order to gain a greater understanding of God’s amazing compassion and love.
Personnel Ministry
The Personnel Ministry is a group of church members, led by at least one serving Elder, whose task is to serve as liaison between the staff, congregation and Session in matters pertaining to church employees.
Worship & Music Ministry
At St. Mark's Church music is an integral part of the worship life of our congregation. As the “work of the people,” each week we take an active role in the liturgy through the singing of hymns and canticles of the church.
